The Universal Guild For Jazz and Progressive Music

Mission Statement

        UGJPM is founded under the premise of acknowledging, honoring, promoting, protecting and preserving America’s indigenous musical art form Jazz, along with consideration and acknowledgment of other progressive musical genres and idioms the Guild deems appropriate and worthy.

      UGJPM will establish and bestow awards, citations and/or endowments to individuals, groups, organizations etc… who have exemplified outstanding artistic and professional excellence in performance, musicianship, composition, arranging, orchestration and recording.  UGJPM will also acknowledge those who have shown support, dedication and commitment in various capacities reflective of the Guild’s purpose and mission.

      UGJPM, through seminars, concerts, clinics and forums will strive to educate, inform, teach and enlighten music professionals, while providing general knowledge, information and accessibility of the music(s) to the general public, enabling them to respect, understand and appreciate the art form, jazz and other progressive musical genres.
